... got a new motor? For the second time within the life of CuL I can record going out today and buying a car. Given the infrequency of such events it suggests that Cul really has been going for a long time (too long? Is this the moment to migrate to Facebook?)

The car is a Ford Focus. It drives really nicely and has a suitable amount of honk with a 1.8 Zetec engine, but I have to admit (and I can because Sue doesn't read this, and she paid for it), that I find the styling of the Focus a bit uninspired compared with Escorts - which is basically the car they've replaced. I mean in an decent engined Escort you can pretend you're in a scaled-down Mustang, and go off on your own muscle-car road movie across the moors into the sunrise.

Or is that just me?

Just back from London, and walked past a van on the Salford campus with 'Student Removal Services' written on the side.

Sounds like someone's finally taking notice of what I've been saying for years; universities would be great to work if it weren't for the darn students cluttering the places up...
